After searching and ultimately finding the Invaders short from last week, I discovered one other little gem from my Mile High Horror Film Festival experience.

When viewing the shorts, the first one in our session was a music video, which I didn’t realize was part of the Festival. (I’m new…). So when I saw the strange poppy electronic beats on top of a very horror driven visual aesthetic, I kinda ruled out the whole short.

To be fair, I didn’t really know what was happening. I thought it was supposed to be comedic, but then… where was the comedy? And it wasn’t until after the short was over that I realized I had been watching a music video.

AND, to be fair, about a week later, I woke up with the song in my head trying to remember the lyrics – and hoping I’d be able to find it with no knowledge of what band/song name to look for.

And months later, here it is:

It’s still got quite a bit of weirdness – and the song may not be for everyone – but I still hum the tune some days. The video has a unique horror feeling with electro-pop music, which is an interesting juxtaposition, but I don’t feel the two truly work together. However, maybe you can enjoy the parts separately, as I do.
